I have spent all of my working career in various customer service roles, having begun part time at the age of 14 and I am just as passionate about good customer service now as I was back then. I spent the last 17 years within the industrial and mining supply industry including nearly 8 years with our sister company Blackwoods. I have held both internal and external roles and enjoyed each and every one.

I joined the Bullivants team in November 2006 looking for a new challenge. As a specialist company, Bullivants certainly offers exactly that, with new challenges presenting themselves almost daily. Being a specialised company in our chosen field allows us to focus our knowledge and experience to offer our customers the best possible solution for their application. There is something very rewarding about making a recommendation and having the customer take your advice.

As the Customer Service Supervisor in a relatively small branch, my role is varied from phone and counter service to inventory management and staff training. Having recently been put forward for the Frontline Leadership training, I am becoming more involved in the safety and branch management aspects of our business. You never know, one day I might be ready to take on the ‘comfy chair’.

I love being on the frontline with customers, building strong relationships to keep them coming back again and again. In tough
economic times, it is important to have a good strong relationship with your customers, often it’s the reason they come to you and not the opposition. Some days are a juggling act, trying to prioritise what I need to do first, but communication with my customers is the key. I try to make all my customers feel that they are the most important person in the world and they have my undivided attention. Whether they are spending $5 or $5000 makes no difference, everyone deserves good service. You never know, the customer you are selling $5.00 worth of hardware to, may be the head of a multi-million dollar company fixing up his holiday home.

I have only just begun to scratch the surface of what Bullivants has to teach me and I see the road ahead continuing to challenge and inspire me and I look forward to being a part of Bullivants as it continues to evolve and grow for many years.
