I started my working life in the stationery industry beginning with a customer service and stores focus. As I developed my skills I turned towards purchasing, inventory management and operations of the store.I heard about a job opportunity at Bullivants from a friend who really sold me on the excellent team, a supporting and enjoyable working environment and the opportunities for career advancement. When I started as the Warehouse Supervisor in 2008 I found this to be true and more! With help from the brilliant internal and external training offered by Bullivants I was able to gain promotion to Warehouse Manager in just over 18 months.
One of the best things I find about working at Bullivants is the lifting and rigging industry itself, it’s quite engaging technically I find there
is always something new to learn. My involvement with the warehouse and as a NATA signatory for the branch means I have to stay up to date with changes in the industry and new products and solutions available to us.
In my current role as Warehouse Manager I am responsible for the long term operations of the warehouse and production team. The
team is 11 members strong and I manage them along with the warehouse supervisor to achieve the monthly and annual goals of the branch while promoting constant improvement in our safe and productive work environment. Working with my team I am also able to promote a culture where hard work, smart thinking and safety initiatives are recognised and rewarded.
Outside of my team I work closely with the other departments at the branch, head office, suppliers, and customers directly,
to ensure that Bullivants is providing the best level of quality and service possible and that we are prepared for future developments in the industry to ensure our continued success.
While I am currently personally invested in developing my branch at Bullivants and improving my skills as a manager, I know that should I wish to take the next step there are always great career opportunities within Bullivants and the broader Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety division as a whole.
